Smarty Jones attempts to be the first horse since 1978 to win racing’s Triple Crown at Belmont this evening.

I’m hoping he wins but I’m not going to put any money on him. The odds are terrible. I spent yesterday afternoon at our local thoroughbred track, Woodbine, and managed to come home about 80 bucks richer. I was also half-drunk so I’m glad to say I still had the sense to leave before all 9 races were run or I would probably have made a stupid bet and lost it all.

Well, he came close but didn’t quite make it.
