4:20 in the afternoon and I’m on a mind numbing conference call. I’m about one step from seeing dancing cigarettes. So far, so good. I haven’t given in to the temptation and tried to bum a smoke from a co-worker.

A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE
With all the discussion about whether the US was right or wrong to invade Iraq, it’s sometimes easy to forget that thousands of brave men and women are trying to get a job done over there, whether we or they agree with them being there or not. Politics aside, they’re up to their asses in a very nasty struggle.
Austin Bay is serving in Iraq and sends this reminder that an actual war is going on.

CLEAR THE AIR
With Jan off for a week, this seems like as good a time as any to try to quit smoking.
I did pretty good yesterday, snuck in two last night after I got back from Wasaga Beach. This morning was tough. Already had a few. Now I’m at the office with no cigarettes near at hand. I’ll just have to keep busy today and try and keep it out of my mind.
Side effect of trying to quit, my jaws ache from all the furious gum chewing I did yesterday.
So to recap:
Sunday – 2 smokes
Monday – 2 smokes (so far)
