Hard to believe that it was 35 years ago that Neil Armstrong first set foot on the surface of the moon.

I remember watching the landing live in Vancouver. The grainy black and white images, Walter Cronkite crying, the future was upon us and it looked good.

Sad that we aren’t pursuing that future with the same drive that we had in the 60’s.

So there’s talk that Molson and Coors are in talks to merge their operations. Since both breweries make crap beer, raise your hands if you think this will improve the quality of either’s products. I didn’t think so.

I sometimes wonder if reporters have trouble keeping a straight face when they write up the “news”.

Today’s case in point comes from the Maryville TN Daily Times where our ink stained wretch Lance Coleman is working the police beat. A man has been charged with burglary, theft of property less than $500, vandalism less than $500 and public intoxication. Pretty tame stuff eh? Not when Lance reports the facts. And I quote:

“Authorities said the man had apparently scaled an 8-foot tall fence while naked and covered in nacho cheese and was seen running toward a Jeep in which officers found clothing and an open bottle of vodka.”
