You’ve no doubt noticed a new image at the top of this here page. It comes from a 1962 album from Bill Evans and Jim Hall called “Undercurrent”. I’ve never heard the music but I’ve always loved the graphic. The photo was taken by Toni Frissell and the design is by Frank Guana and Alan Douglas.
I know this because I have a book called “Album Cover Album” by Storm Thorgerson and Roger Dean. Roger Dean is best known for his Yes covers and Thorgerson is better known as Hipgnosis.
The new scanner will get a workout and you’ll see some other classics show up over the next few weeks.
