It appears that GMail is becoming a victim of its own success. The first report of phishing has surfaced. A cleverly worded email attempts to trick you into providing your gmail password.
Since I’ve given out a number of invites, I just wanted to warn everyone.
BTW, if anyone’s still looking for a Gmail account, drop me a line in the comments and perhaps I’ll send you an invite.

EYE ON IVAN

Hurricane Ivan continues to barrel through the Gulf of Mexico on a path that will have it hit Louisiana, Alabama and the Florida panhandle.
I’ve heard some stories that the storm surge in New Orleans could reach 20 feet. It’s really hard to believe that a balcony I sat on in the French Quarter earlier this year could be underwater tomorrow.
Be safe everyone.
Update: Over at WizBang there’s some chilling details of what might just happen if Ivan slams New Orleans.
OH CANADA

Congratulations to the Canadians who won the World Cup last night in Toronto. You’re the heroes.
Asshats of the day are the few “fans” who decided to vandalize cars and fight with police after the game.
