Had to download the latest version of Apple’s QuickTime video player today. Had no choice but to get iTunes as well. I’m not going to use it but when I decided to look at the inteface I was forced to read the EULA (End User License Agreement). Usually, these are masterpieces of bafflegab but I was immediately struck by this which was shown in CAPITAL LETTERS so I wouldn’t miss the point:
THE APPLE SOFTWARE IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE IN THE OPERATION OF NUCLEAR FACILITIES, AIRCRAFT NAVIGATION OR COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS, AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEMS, LIFE SUPPORT MACHINE OR OTHER EQUIPMENT IN WHICH THE FAILURE OF THE APPLE SOFTWARE COULD LEAD TO DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY, OR SEVERE PHYSICAL OR ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE.
Whoa! That’s a little heavy just to use a crappy, overpriced music download service. Thanks Apple!
