A beautiful late May Saturday. What better way to spend it than by chowing down on a rack of BBQ ribs?
The 3rd annual RibFest is going on today in Gage Park here in Bramtpon. Proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society. Good food for a good cause. Of course I had to grab mine from the Jake’s Boathouse stand.
This post should have been written from Switzerland but, instead, I find myself home in Brampton on a cool, miserable day. Problems at work forced me to cancel my trip. So much for the business class flight on KLM and a chance to meet up with my counterparts from around the world.
Today is Victoria Day in Canada, our first “Summer” long weekend. Half the city took off for 3 days of rest only to find cold, rain and in some cases snow and hail. Almost makes up for the fact I’ve been working all weekend except for 2 rounds of golf and grocery shopping.
It’s been 2 weeks since my last posting which must count as some kind of record but I’ve been struggling with a major project and, by the time I get home at night, the last thing I want to look at is a keyboard.
For those wondering about the kitchen project, it remains stalled. Home Depot has really dropped the ball on getting everything finished. The backsplash area still needs measuring and installing so we’ve been forced to delay the flooring installation in an attempt to get their asses in gear.
Week 45 of the renovations or maybe it just seems that it’s taken that long. The painting still has a few days to go but at least Jan is back from Edmonton to share in the chaos.
Not everyone is finding all the contents of the house piled in the middle of the rooms a bad thing. Sarah, when not helping Mike with the painting, finds that snuggling up in the drapes a great way to grab a nap.
This week we’ll make the final decision on the laminate and schedule the next stage of House Version 2.0.
The kitchen is just about finished so we decided to keep the chaos going by deciding to get the house painted.
The master bedroom. No idea where I’m sleeping for the next few days.
The biggest change will be our dreary old cielings. 20 years of heavy smoking leaves its mark.
