The drive by the Seattle Museum of Flight to move the last remaining Lockheed Super Constellation from Toronto to Washington State has encountered an obstacle with the refusal of the Canadian government to issue an export permit.
Dismantled and in storage, the Connie is now stuck in red tape as the permit office deemed the aircraft “to be of significant cultural and historical importance to Canada”. For years, no one wanted the beautiful bird but now it’s destined to be the spoils in a cross-border battle.
