The Alouette 2 program was terminated after 10 years.  The second Canadian satellite was launched on November 29, 1965 to study the ionosphere.

Alouette 2 and the earlier Alouette 1 were built in Downsview in the building that now houses the Canadian Air @ Space Museum.
