Ambitious Road Trips

aviation history

Hard on the news that the National Warplane Museum C-47 Whiskey 7 will be making the trip, comes news that the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum Lancaster VRA will also be flying  across the Atlantic to celebrate the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

Whiskey 7 will leave from its base in Geneseo New York and, as it did in 1944, will drop paratroopers near St. Mere Eglise, France.  Further details of their trip along with links to help fund the ambitious journey are available here.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum Lancaster is one of only 2 flying in the world and this year it will cross the pond and meet up with the other to take part in a number of events.   Details here.
