As we watch the events unfold in London, Baghdad and numerous other places
in the world, I was reminded of this statue in the ruins of St. Nikolai
Cathedral in Hamburg, Germany. The church was badly bombed during WWII and
most of it has been left as is. A small children’s garden of peace lies in
the center of what once would have been where the congregation met to
worship.
